… is currently overshadowed by the fact that the central heating in many Moscow buildings is yet to be switched on for winter season. Whereas in my flat I can wear a T-shirt with short sleeves, in the office I am visiting today it is so cold that I have to wear my red leather coat and drink countless cups of hot tea. The central heating is not on yet, and there is no portable heater to take advantage of. I’ve almost got a feeling that it is warmer outside, in the street planted with tall trees that are rapidly changing colour and shedding leaves. Here is what Russian October usually looks like:
