Visiting Friends

In the last 10 years I barely visited my friends. I was out of reach due to work; and I gave some lessons at my students’ homes, so I kind of had enough of home visits.

This year things are changing. I’ve been meeting people I know and I’ve been making friends with new people. This “fresh blood” is quintessential for our personal and professional growth.

Right now I’m on my way to meet my friends. I’ve bought this superb bouquet of flowers in ravishing green, purple and pink. They are my favourite colours, and I know the friends will love the present.

So, if there are friends who you haven’t visited for a while, why not call by?

Teacher’s Day – 2022

This year I’ve got lots of classes. People want to learn English and French, two students are preparing for their A-levels, younger students are eager to acquire new skills. I’m glad to be in this profession and proud of helping those who want to understand their native language better and to use their foreign language skills. Happy teacher’s day to all my colleagues in the world!

Neighbourhood Cam: Hues and Reflections

Autumn is hesitantly descending onto Moscow. Some trees have lost all their leaves, while others – of the same kind – are only just beginning to yellow. The fall beautifully covers the streets and park lanes. It is still quite warm in the day and at night, and the sky’s blue is as clean as in early March.

It’s been a few years now that I’ve noticed how seasons miraculously blend into one another. Winter sends its reminiscences in summer when poplar covers the town with its white foam. And now, above the greens and still rare yellows and reds, the blue unashamedly spills across the sky.

A man cannot constantly focus on things at hand. If he persists, things gradually lose their significance and become mundane. So we have to look up to the sky now and again. The reflection is what we notice when we return “home”.
