Sending Best Wishes to Women Globally

Today is the International Women’s Day, still seen as a day celebrating traditional feminine values and roles, i.e. that of a mother and a beauty. This year, prompted by political activity, Russian press has noted the fact that Russia lags significantly behind other countries in the numbers of women deployed in Politics, Business, and Religion. One can be sure that upcoming 4-5 years will see an increase in female participation in all fields of public life, and so 8th of March may acquire a very different meaning.

My female cats celebrate this day by non-conformist and naughty behaviour, and for them this is evidently a day to set themselves free and feel emancipated from creatures on two legs who order them around.

This year, shortly before I left for my quick trip to England, I’ve come across a selection of photographs, one of which struck me in a particular way. It is no secret that 8th of March is sometime a man’s favourite holiday. When I saw the photo, I remembered about it, and I was waiting for this day to share them.
